The index tracks developments and growth trends in sporting goods retail across physical stores and e-commerce, broken down into relevant product categories. Its purpose is to provide reliable, quality-assured statistics for retailers, suppliers, manufacturers and other stakeholders seeking to understand market developments and make informed decisions.

The Sport Index is published four times a year and contains unique monthly statistics on the development of sporting goods retail. Physical stores and e-commerce are reported separately, with performance also broken down into footwear, clothing and equipment, as well as 23 relevant product categories.

The index is based on validated, anonymised and aggregated sales data from leading industry players: Stadium, Stadium Outlet, XXL, Intersport, Löplabbet, Team Sportia, Sportringen, Bike Nation, Sportshopen, Sportshopen Outlet, Swedemount, and the sports departments at Boozt and Booztlet.
